It is not uncommon for people to be surprised by how spacious and comfortable our yacht is. Many peoples previous experience of yachts has been on smaller older vessels, or perhaps a heavily used or worn sail training boat. Kimochi has been out of the water this winter again having love and care lavished over her. During this time many marine tradesmen have been aboard doing their various checks and maintenance work and nearly all have commented on what a lovely boat she is. This is a view also clearly shared by many others looking through our 5* Google reviews.
The Feeling 39 is a well built and nicely finished premium cruising yacht, built to RCD A (Ocean) specification. Kimochi is a particularly fine example with many extras and in superb condition throughout. On deck she has nice touches like her teak decks, powerful full battened Kemp mainsail, asymmetric cruising chute on a Selden GX furler and bowsprit, dyneema inner forestay, cockpit tent, as well as modern Raymarine instrumentation and MFD’s.
Below she has a very spacious saloon and 8 berths in the 3 double cabins and the saloon (although normally only 4 clients max on overnight trips). There are USB points to all bunks, hot and cold water, shower, fridge, freezer, oven and heating throughout. The list goes on. Being an MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) category 2 coded boat, she also has a large array of safety equipment including brand new offshore lifejackets for the 2024 season, plus a wide selection of sailing waterproofs and boots for clients to use for no extra charge.
Sea to Peak Expeditions does not hire in its skippers. All sailing adventures are led by Richard, the owner/ skipper, who has several thousand miles experience skippering her and has spent countless hours maintaining her. This means he knows the boat and her systems very well. Therefore, in the unlikely event things don’t go quite to plan he is very well placed to deal with it. As Kimochi ventures to many of the more remote corners of the UK she also carries a large array of tools and spares.
Overall Kimochi has a great balance of being very comfortable, both in harbour and at sea, whilst also being safe and performing well under sail. But one aspect that really stands her out from others is her lifting centreboard which enables her to enter many beautiful shallow locations most others can’t reach. This makes her perfect for exploring those memorable and more off the beaten track locations, whether that be a small drying fishing harbour or amongst the reeds up a creek.
